Mufaddila (Tafzili)

The Mufaddila are the third type of Shi'a as described by Imam Fadl al-Rasul al-Badayuni in his celebrated al-Mu'taqad al-Muntaqad. The first type is that of which practices Tabbarra', which means to disassociate with the Companions, this is the case with Majority of Shi'a, also known as Imamiyya or Ithna 'Ashariyya. The second type is of Ghuluw, which means extremism, which includes  those who believe the Qur'an is incomplete or attribute divinity to Sayyiduna 'Ali.

As for the Mufaddila, they believe that Sayyiduna 'Ali is more preferable than Sayyiduna Abu Bakr and Sayyiduna 'Umar. They are also known as the Zaydiyya, a group which ascribes themselves to the great Imam Zayd, but have nothing to do with him. They despise Companions such as Sayyiduna Mu'awiyya and others.

* May Allah be pleased with all the aforementioned names and give us with their company and protect us from the company of the liars and cheats who wrongfully ascribe to them things which are unfounded. Amin
