Pir Alaudin Sidiquee (DB) and Noor TV # 97
by  neophyte  /  9 Months, 1 Week ago
Salam (Following on from previous forum)

Regarding the accusation that there is too much promotion of Pir Sahib on Noor tv(which has to be established) and increasing of fame, I say that if I felt Pir Sahib were seeking fame I would have a problem. However I believe Pir Sahib are sincere and humble and dont seek fame. I believe they sincerely feel for the Ummah and wish to use their position and resources to help the masses. For this reason I can over look this issue. It could be an issue in terms of the time that could be used on other programmes.

About the coverage of Pir Sahib on Noor tv. Lets look at it closer.

- The adverts for Al Ehya. These are justifiable. They shouldnt be taken into consideration in the category of 'Pir promotion'.

- The respect paid by presenters at the start of programmes in a few sentences. This again is reasonable and doesnt take up too much time.

- Dars e Mathnavi. This is a programme in its own right and Pir Sahib are teaching.
This shouldnt be included in the 'Pir promotion' category too.

- Birthday celebration programmes. These are sort of a one off events and can be over looked.

My point is maybe little bits and bats of Pir Sahib here and there on Noor tv may give the impression of Pir promoting. I dont say there isnt any promoting but are people exaggerating the amount?

Anyway, I was watching the 'Ulama and Mashaykh visit/mehfil at the college' programme the other afternoon. So many scholars were at the gathering and it occured to me that no scholar has criticised Noor tv but instead praised it. It occured to me that if any scholar did criticise, people (with respect) could turn around and ask what they have done for the Ummah or Ahle Sunna in UK?

Before Noor tv the other channels would call Ahle Sunnah beliefs/actions 'bida'h or shirk' and Noor tv has explained the justifications and proofs for many things we believe or practice. This is one good thing. Islam channel or Imam Qasim would get away with their views. Now Noor tv has given our side of the story. That is one benefit.

This isnt a criticism/challenge to others or anything like that. Sometimes an answer or what I believe to be a good answer (explanation) comes into my head and I express it on the forum.

Forgive me for any wrong.

Salam.
[And We said in the Taurât (Torah)]: "It maybe that your Lord may show mercy unto you, but if you return (to sins), We shall return (to Our punishment). And We have made Hell a prison for the disbelievers.

i know this has been discussed many times but if u look at the air time used to promote Pir shaibs achievements it would be quite a large pecentage. One thing i and others have a problem with is the perception it givs of tasawwuf. By all means his achievements are unquestionable but they pale into insignificance when u see what the arab shuyukh have achieved yet there isn't as much fanfare made. Just go to Hadramaut and u'll see wot I mean. We have teh likes of Ameere e Dawate Islami who now have their own platform but compare their production to Noor and u'll c a huge difference.

My ultimate gripe is it's failing to address the need of the day and thats' the fact that our youth just find this constant exagerration cheesy and off putting. Also it's a turn off for hardcore barelvis because u can't view the channel for more than ten minutes w/out sum music being blared out. Also teh issue of pardah has been extensively discussed on the old forum.

It basically sums up all the things that drove me towards wahabiya before i was thankfully guided. As for the 'ulama i'm sure they disagree with a lot of things but unfortunately thats hard. i do however i do recall Mufti Ansar giving a very comprehensive answer re parda which was contrary to the manner women display themselves on this channel. On this subject i believe it's even lead to a romance between one of the sisters who appear on the channel and a brother studying in the station.....

I just want to ask everyone one question, IF our Pir Sahib has a TV channel, and the 'same' amount of time was dedicated to promoting his achievements, would we all still hold the same views as we do now?

This is the honest truth and no lie, Allah is my witness: If my Pir did the things I see on this channel then I would break my Bay'ah with him.

I am not asking anyone to do the same, I am simply answering your question honestly. I follow 'AlaHazrat, the combination of Shari'ah and Tariqa.

it begs the question why do so many 'ulama remain quite at the blatant munkar.

Brother abu al-mahasin i do respect you from the core of my heart, for being such a devote follower of Ala Hazrat may Allah's mercy be upon him, and also for being so loyal and sincere to what you believe is correct, at the same time i strongly advise you to approach Noor TV if you feel so strongly about some of things you have seen on there.

But my question wasnt

If our Pir Sahib has a TV channel, and it showed the same things that Noor TV shows, would we all still hold the same views as we do now?

Rather i asked

IF our Pir Sahib has a TV channel, and the 'same' amount of time was dedicated to promoting his achievements, would we all still hold the same views as we do now?
