Asalaamualakium this is my first post and its about celebrating the Milad.
When a deobandi asks me the sahaba never did it what can i say?
Also in the quran surah Maryam i think 19 ayat where it says salam on Yahya the day he was born and the day he dies and the day he shall be rised up, people use this for celebrtaing Milad un nabi what is the meaning? I know when it says Say in Allah's Bounty and in his mercy therein let them rejoice its is better than their wealth because it tells you to rejoice the mercy, but what about the ayat in Surah Maryam.

There are no direct references in the Qur'an and Sunnah for the way it is performed today. Hence, it would be better to go down the root of Bid`ah Hasanah and the definition of Bid`ah. According to the vast majority of scholars, bid`ah is evil if it goes contrary to the shari`ah, and is good if it is in accordance with the shari`ah. It is really that simple, as per the Hadith "من سن سنة حسنة في الإسلام؛ فله أجرها وأجر من عمل بها إلى يوم القيامة". The question therefore boils down to what goes on in your Milad Majalis. I can only speak for what I know, and in Dar al-Mustafa, Tarim, they recite poetry about our relationship with Allah and his messenger sallallah `alayhi wa sallam, recite salawat, remmeber the noble birth, give and listen to speeches and make dua. This is done every Thurday and other times. All these actions are praiseworthy according to the shari`ah in and of themselves, and it would be recommended to perform these majalis providing you don't consider it obligatory, necessary or sunnah.

You need to tell deobandi their Jamaat is a bidat sect for starters as Allah almighty says in Glorious Quran hold on to rope of Allah Almighty tightly and be not divided among yourselves and these muppets deviated from ahle sunnat jamaat and created their own jamaat in 1889. Very simple islam started over 1400 years ago and not in 1889. The other thing we have to realise is that islam is a way of life and not just a religion as it tells you everything in Glorious Quran and Hadith from ways to sleep, eat, drink to fasting praying etc so if you want to talk about bidat then you need to judge your whole life by Glorious Quran and Sunnah as it will be judged on day of judgement. So if something contradicts Glorious Quran and Sunnah then that is a bidat and haram. Now milad was celebrated by Rasool Allah (saws) themselves by fasting so what more evidence do you need. Also if deobandi say that celebrate by fasting then why are you doing jaloos etc for; ask them where in Hadith did Rasool Allah (saws) say or in Glorious Quran does it say celebrate by ONLY fasting.You can celebrate in anyway as long as it doesn't go against Glorious Quran or Sunnah. Also ask them what is Milad? Milad is basically talking about the birth of Rasool Allah saws as by celebrating it we are showing joy of our prophet saws coming into this world. So are these deobandi muppets trying to say the sahaba pbut were upset NAUZBILLAH at the birth of our prophet saws?
Also most of the deobandi especially in this country UK are hanafi so were the sahaba hanafi? did they study fiqh? did they study hadith? did they use internet? use mobiles? did they live in a interest based economy? You begin to realise that when it comes to showing love to Rasool Allah saws they quote Quran and Hadith but what about when it come to worldly benefits such as doing haram activities, claiming illegal benefits, living on interest etc. Where does the Quran and Hadith go then? Where do the sahaba pbut go then?

Subhan Allah we love our prophet sal Allaho alaihi wassalam all the time,cant be muslim without that!We read ahadith try to practice his sunnah by implementing it in our lives and when the actual date of his birth arrives one think we would keep quite? and stop praising him and loving him that one day which is suppose to be special for all muslims? how cruel some muslims can be and then they claim to love Allah and His beloved prophet sal Allaho alaihi wassalam.May Allah open their hearts and mind in realizing this simple fact.
