Statement # 1: "Then we will be the children of God"
This statement is outright kufr, even if it is taken "metaphorically", as Ibn `Atiyya al-Maliki mentions in his tafsir. It is Kufr Sareeh Muta`yyan, the qa`il is a kafir murtadd according to both the Fuqaha and Mutakalimeen and the qa`il must re-do his iman, his nikah, and his bay`at. The one who doubts the kufr of such a person who has said this statement is a kafir (man shakka fi kufrihi faqad kafar)
Statement # 2: "We believe that the Prophet has no power to benefit or harm...ila bi idhnillah"
This statement is kufr ghayr sareeh (not apparent) and is evidently luzoomi (implied in interpretation), meaning the statement are not kufr in it's meaning but can lead towards kufr through interpretations that are disrespectful .The qa`il is not kafir [due to this statement alone] but should do renewal of Iman, Nikah, and Bay`at, out of caution.
Statement # 3: "Death interrupts an appointed life-span"
This is also Kufr Sareeh Muta`yyan and was the belief of the Mu`tazila. Once again, the qa`il is a kafir murtadd and must re-do his iman, his nikah, and his bay`at. The one who doubts the kufr of such a person who has said this statement is a kafir (man shakka fi kufrihi faqad kafar)
Statement # 4: "He [Sayyiduna Umar] lost his mind"
This is an insult to the saHaba radhiyAllahu anhu. It is kufr sareeh mutabayyan as the fuqaha have stated that the one who insults the Shaykayn is a kafir but the Mutakalimeen hold the one who insults the Shaykayn to be a mubtadi`i. Thus, the person who has said this should repent from this statement and out of caution, should re-do his iman, nikah, and bay`at.
Statement # 5: "That he [Sayyiduna Muhammad sal Allahu alayhi wa salim] is a man like other men who came before from Allah and they died and he will died"
This statement is absolutely unlawful and in addition, it is odd that the speaker of this statement later contradicts this statement in public. Nonetheless, this statement is kufr sareeh mutabayyan, meaning there is a difference of opinion on the qa`il since there is ibHam (ambiguity) in the wording due to "who came before from Allah". The fuqaha would hold such a person as a kafir while the mutakalimeen would not do takfir. Thus, the hukm is sukoot upon the qa`il of this statement. However, the qa`il still must re-do his iman, nikah, and bay`at out of caution.
Statement # 6: "If I can't say rahmatullahi alayha after her [Rachel Corrie's] name, then I'm sorry but I'm in the wrong religion.
This is also Kufr Sareeh Muta`yyan and the one who said is a Kafir Murtadd. Once again, the qa`il is a kafir murtadd and must re-do his iman, his nikah, and his bay`at. The one who doubts the kufr of such a person who has said this statement is a kafir (man shakka fi kufrihi faqad kafar)
