Deobandi and Wahabi beliefs

In this article are listed the major deviant beliefs of the scholars of the deobandi and wahabi sects, and it is these belief which make the deobandies and wahabies different from the Ahle Sunnah Wal Jamaat. Many innocent Sunnies, and deobandies / wahabies when questioned what is the difference between the Sunnies and deobandies / wahabies? Will get very confused, and the reason for this is brainwashing on the part of the debandies / wahabies that, there is no difference. Also when the differences are mentioned it is the differences in secondary issues which are referred to i.e.

• Celebrating the Birthday of the holy prophet may salaam be upon him
• Intercession
• Following an Imam in Fiqh etc

These total about twelve topics and then some are further divided into sub- topics, I will not be highlighting any of these as these are not the main and major difference between the Sunnis and deobandies / wahabies rather they are secondary topics. Anyone wishing to learn about these secondary topics is advised to read the book Traditional Scholarship and Modern Misunderstandings Understanding The Ahle al-Sunnah, this is a beautiful book written by one of the greatest Scholars of the current time Abu Amaar, the great feature of this book is a lot of the foundations and basis that are given for the beliefs of the Ahle Sunnah are from the likes of Ibn Taymia and Ibn Kathir etc who the deobandis / wahabies consider high authorities. In this article I will only be listing some of the Major differences between the Sunnis and deobandies / wahabies. These are the issues which were the cause of the sects of deobandies and wahabbies emerging, these are the issues which have cut off the deobandies / whabbies from the Ahle Sunnah. And this is the topic of respecting Allah Almighty and the holy prophet may salaam be upon him. The deobandies and wahabies in the name of a ‘false Tawheed’ have tried very hard to downgrade the very high and unattainable rank of the beloved prophet may salaam be upon him. And this is crystal clear from their books when the deobandis or wahabies are challenged by these sayings of their scholars; we tend to find three types of replies,

1. These saying don’t exist,

Well all the quotes are given, and the exact quote, the exact book, and page number, all the books quoted except for one are very easily available. Also may Allah Almighty safeguard the Ahle Sunnah scholars who’s blood boils whenever the beloved prophet may salaam be upon him is insulted, who have always exposed the deobandies and wahabies, all the quotes I have given PLUS MORE can be seen in a form of a video

Each book is held up in front of the camera and quoted from. However the video is in Urdu which non Urdu speaking readers will have difficulty in understanding. So to say these quotes are fabricated is a sign of high level of ignorance and deceit

The whole aim of my self to write this article is to answer the last two types of replies which we often receive. This can only be achieved if every single statement is looked into, which will be done in this article.

Before I start analyzing every single statement under questions I feel it’s very important to highlight the Islamic position on disrespecting the holy prophet may salaam be upon him, so that we become aware of exactly how serious sin this is.
Allah Almighty orders in the Quran

O men of Faith, do not say Raina, but say humbly respected sir, ‘look upon us’, and from the very beginning listen carefully, and for the disbelievers is a grievous torment 2:104

Raina in Arabic means, look at us and we will look at you, protect us and we will protect you, watch us and we will watch you. The companions of the beloved prophet may salaam be upon him, used this word to ask the holy prophet may salaam be upon him to repeat something which they didn’t understand yet they were stopped from using this word. The reason they were stopped was, even though in Arabic this word didn’t have an insulting meaning and the companions were extremely sincere when they used this word, in Hebrew this word means curse. The Jews would come up to the beloved prophet may salaam be upon him and say this word, pretending that they wanted the holy prophet may salaam be upon him to repeat himself, but in secret they were disrespecting him, and amongst themselves use to say we curse him in secret and now we will curse him openly. Thus this ayat was revealed commanding to strictly avoid using this word. Imam Qurtabi may Allah’s mercy be upon him writes

This ayat contains evidence that one should avoid ambiguous expressions which could be disparaging or allude to faults

I humbly ask all readers to bear this in mind when you read the filthy statements of the deobandi / wahabi scholars below, and also this answers those who claim that these statements of the deobandies / wahabies have been taken out of context, if there was even the smallest of possibilities that something when taken out of context could mean disrespecting the holy prophet may salaam be upon him then according to the above command of Allah Almighty that act would still be strictly forbidden.

Before I start comparing the statements of the deobandies / wahabies against the true Islamic positions I would just like to write what the true scholars of the Ahle Sunnah Wal Jamaat say about disrespecting the holy prophet may salaam be upon him

‘There is consensus that whoever insults the dignity of the Holy Prophet may salaam be upon him is an infidel. For him there is the warning of Allah punishment and a person who doubts his infidelity and punishment will also become an infidel’. Ashifa page 321 written by Qadi Iyaad Malaki

‘Whoever speaking insulting words against the holy prophet may salaam be upon him or against any prophet may salaam be upon them, will be punished in this world even after repentance. He will not be pardon even if he spoke the words only in intoxication. All the ulema are unanimous that a person insulting the dignity of the holy prophet may salaam be upon him is an infidel and an infidel of such a type that one doubting his infidelity also becomes an infidel’. Wajiz volume 3 page 321 written by Imam Kurdi

‘The repentance of every apostate is accepted, but he who insults a Prophet may salaam be upon him is such an infidel that his repentance will not be accepted.’ Tanvir al Absar written by Abu Abdullah Muhammed

‘If a Muslim abuses the holy prophet may salaam be upon him, falsifies or speaks ill of him, degrades him, beyond doubt he becomes an infidel and his wife will be taken out of marriage to him.’ Kitab al Khiraj page 112 written by Imam Abu Yousuf

These are the fatwa’s of the true Imam’s of the Ahle Sunnah Wal Jamaat these were the men who spent decades in doing service for Islam, these imams show no mercy towards anyone who insults the holy prophet may salaam be upon him, in fact the Imams of the Ahle Sunnah Wal Jamaat are unanimous that the one who even insults the sandals of the holy prophet may salaam be upon him, loses his imaan and is a non Muslim. Imam Abu Yousuf once had the son of king, hung upside down, and whipped 100 times, for insulting a vegetable which the holy prophet may salaam be upon him use to like. Dear readers please bear the stance of these pious Imams in your hearts, and honestly conclude from the statements of deobandi and wahabi scholars listed below

As is proven from Ayahs and numerous hadiths, one by one examples are given from the Quran and Hadith, Allah Almighty states 'He is powerful to send torment on you ’ and in another place ‘And Allah is not one to chastise them, till ('O beloved Prophet) you are in their midst’. The second ayah negates the promise of punishment, its obvious if the opposite is done, then lying is established, but from the first Ayah it’s known that this is within the power of Allah. So its proven that lying is present within the power of Allah Almighty and why shouldn’t it be like this when he ‘can do everything’ (Fataawa Rasheediyah, vol. 1. So lay the curse of Allah upon the liars 3:61,

We can see according to the Quran the liars are cursed, may Allah Almighty protect us all, are the deobandis claiming that Allah Almighty is cursed!!!, also lying is a major sin in Islam, May Allah Almighty protect us, are the deobandis claiming that Allah Almighty himself commits a major sins. You can see how evil this filth is of the deobandis. And you can compare it to the true Islamic position.

I know all the hidden things of the heavens and earth, and I know what you disclose and whatever you hide 2:33

From this ayat it’s crystal clear that Allah Almighty knows every single detail of every single thing, and to say acts of his creation are hidden from him is nothing but pure denial of the Quran.

After seeing the state of Satan and the Angel of Death, to believe that the Pride of the World (the holy prophet may salaam be upon him) has all-encompassing vast knowledge of the earthly sphere, contravening without proof decisive scriptural texts and proceeding solely from false analogy, then if this is not outright shirk, how should it be a part of faith? Such vastness is established for Satan and the Angel of Death through scriptural texts. Through what decisive scriptural text has the Pride of the World’s vastness of knowledge been established, that one should affirm an act of shirk by rejecting all scriptural texts?” (Baraaheen-e-Qaati'ah, pages 51 and 52). To even compare the holy prophet may salaam be upon him to the Satan is unthinkable, the Satan Is rejected from the court of Allah Almighty, whereas if the holy prophet may Salaam be upon him had not been created, Allah Almighty wouldn’t have created anything else, We learn from many hadiths that everything has only been created because of the holy prophet may salaam be upon him and had he not been created nothing would have been created (Mustadrik Imam Hakim)

It’s due to the sake of the holy prophet may salaam be upon him that everything has been created, and to compare the beloved prophet may salaam be upon him to the Satan is so disgusting. This was a level that even Abu Jhal never sank to.

As for the ‘knowledge of the sataan’, the satans knowledge didn’t help him at all when he got commanded to do Sajda to Hazrat Adam may salaam be upon him Quran 2:34. His knowledge was so little that he didn’t understand the importance of the Command of Allah Almighty. But the knowledge of the holy prophet may salaam be upon him in terms of Obedience to Allah Almighty was so vast, that once upon being asked why he prays for large amounts of time to the extent that his blessed feet get swollen when he hasn’t even got any sins nor will he have in the future, the holy prophet may salaam be upon him replied shouldn’t I be a thankful to Allah Almighty (Bukahri)

This is how cautious holy prophet may salaam be upon him was in his obedience to Allah Almighty, whereas the Satan wasn’t even cautious enough to obey Allah Almighty never mind be thankful.

As far as comparing the beloved prophet may salaam be upon him to the angel of death is concerned, how about we study the humbleness of the angel of death in front of the holy prophet may salaam be upon him, when the time of departure from this world came for the holy prophet may salaam be upon him the angel of death came in a shape of human (a Bedouin) he knocked on the door and asked for permission to enter. (Tabrani Kabeer).

As far as the knowledge of the angel of death is concerned, the angel of death knows when and where someone is going to die, Its is established from Sahih hadith that the holy prophet may salaam be upon him had this knowledge, before the battle of badr as to where so and so is going to die, the holy prophet may salaam be upon him pointed to exact location of where Abu Jhal would die, and where Shyba would die, and it was at them exact locations that these kuffar died (Muslim) but a far greater, greatness of holy prophet may salaam be upon him is the power to bring the dead back to life thus making the Angel of Death visit twice, We find in Ashifa that the holy prophet may salaam be upon them brought back to life the dead.

In light of the above are we not justified to ask why this huge injustices has been done to the holy prophet may salaam be upon him when the knowledge of the Satan and the angel of death was said to be grater than his knowledge.

4. The Prophet of Allah was not aware of his ultimate fate and of things beyond a wall. (Barraheen-e-Qaati 'ah, page 51). Written by Khaleel Ahmad Ambethvi

From this unseen (knowledge) does it mean some of the unseen or all of the unseen If it refers to some of the unseen, then how is the Prophet uniquely special in this, when such unseen knowledge is possessed by Zayd and ‘Amr (Tom Dick), indeed by every child and madman, and even by all animals and beasts? For every individual knows something that is hidden from another individual, so everyone should be called “knower of the unseen.” Written by Ashraf Ali Thanvi Hifzul Ieemnan, page 7

May Allah Almighty protect us from such evil words, what a disgusting comparison; I honestly believe the comparison made is so low that even a small Muslim child will feel so ashamed if he ever had to listen to it.

I wonder how the deobandies would feel if I was to say ‘how is the knowledge of Ashraf Thanvi uniquely special when such knowledge is possessed by every Devil, Dog and Pig!

As for the amount of knowledge that the holy prophet may salaam be upon him holds let us read the Quran

‘The Most Affectionate, taught the Quran to his beloved’ 55:2

We learn that Allah Almighty has taught the Quran to his beloved prophet may salaam be upon him, and what is the Quran

‘Undoubtedly, there has come to you from Allah a light and a book, luminous’ 5:15

Allah Almighty states what the Quran is, it’s a book which is luminous, Kitaabu Mubeen. And what exactly does the kitaabu mubeen hold?

And as many unseen of the heavens and the earth are there, all are in Kitabum mubeen 27:75

We learn that all the secrets of everything are in the Kitaabu Mubeen please ponders over the following.

Allah Almighty the knower of all the unseen has taught his beloved prophet may salaam be upon him, ALL the secrets of the heavens and earth. So how much knowledge must the holy prophet may salaam be upon him then possess? Allah Almighty is the teacher, the subject being taught is ‘everything’, and the pupil is the beloved prophet may salaam be upon him. Dear readers this is the Islamic answer on how much knowledge the holy prophet may salaam be upon him holds, we can compare this to what the deobandi Alim ‘claims’.

6. Hazrat Farooq May Allah be pleased with him, held this rank that the thought of arranging the troops didn’t disturb his salaat in actual fact even that was a perfection of his prayer, because this thinking was an inspiration from Allah Almighty which was placed in his heart, and whoever thinks of a matter whether its religious or worldly is going totally against the above and whoever realizes this knows yes ‘There are layers of darkness one upon the other’ the though of sex with your wife is much better then the thought of adultery, and thought of a sheikh and other such personalities even the thought of the holy prophet may salaam be upon him, to use your concentration in this manner is worse then being in deep thought about an ox or a donkey, because the thought of a sheikh sticks to the heart of a human due to respect and old age, and the thought of an ox or donkey is not so respectful, but is a lowly thing and respect of others in prayer pulls towards shirk(Siraat-e-Mustaqeem, page 86).Written by Ismaiel Dehlvi

We seek refuge with Allah Almighty from such sickening belief, May the Curse of Allah Almighty be upon the writer of this kuffar,

It is vital in salaat to say ‘Salaam be upon you Oh! Prophet’ will ones thoughts not be constant engaged in remembrance of the holy Prophet may salaam be upon them when one is sending salaam upon him, in fact one of the greatest Sufis of Pakistan, Hazoor Data Sahib may Allah’s mercy be upon him, whilst once praying got so lost in the thought of the holy prophet may salaam be upon him that he repeated this blessed sentence 70 times!

Once some companions were asked whether the holy prophet may salaam be upon him recited Surah Fatiaa in the Salaat of Zuhur and Asar, the companions replied yes he did, the questioner further asked that, how would you know, you use to be praying behind him, and the one praying behind the Imam cant see the Imam as he would be looking at his place of sajada, the companions replied, We knew the holy prophet may salaam be upon him is reciting surah Fatia as we use to see his blessed beard use to be moving! (Muslim)

Dear readers please ponder upon this, if someone is reading salaat behind an Imam, he must make a very special effort in order to be able to see the Imams beard, so just think the companions use to make such enormous efforts to ensure that the thought of the beloved prophet may salaam be upon him was circulating in their brains whilst praying, yet the whabbi scholar claim they would have been better offer thinking of a donkey or an ox!!!!!

7. To the common people, the expression "Khaatim-un-Nabiy-yeen" means the "last Prophet". To the knowing people this is not a correct view. Even if a Prophet was to be born after the holy Prophet (Sallal Laahu 'Alaihi Wa Sallam) it would still have no effect on the concept of the finality of Muhammad (Sallal Laahu 'Alaihi Wa Sallam). This is such open kuffar that I feel so ashamed in having to repeat it, the cursed deobandi scholar is claiming that the outstanding and unique rank given to the blessed prophet may salaam be upon him of ‘Khaatim-un-Nabiy-yeen’ ‘ last Prophet’ is absolutely meaningless as a new Prophet can come afterwards. This is a gateway to making a claim to prophet hood, and that’s exactly what happened, afterwards the Mirzais used this as proof for the so called prophet hood of their leader Mirza Gulham Ahmed Qadiani May the Curse of Allah Almighty be upon him.

If someone was to say, ‘if the writer of the above statement was spat in face, a 1000 times it still won’t affect his honor’ would the deobandis agree?

8. Mawlana Khaleel Ahmed Ambethvee writes “Madarsae Deoband has a very high place in the sight of Haq ta’ala. (Allah ta’ala).Many scholars studied here and have taken away people from the wrong path. That is why one righteous person was blessed with meeting prophet ( sall allahu alaihi wa sallam) in his dream and when he found that prophet was talking to him in Urdu he asked “You are an Arabi, how did you learn this language He replied ever since I have come in contact with scholars of Deoband I have learnt this language. Subhan Allah, from this the high position of this madarsa is known. Barhane qatiya, page 26

It has already been established above from the Quran that the holy Prophet may salaam be upon him had oceans and oceans of vast knowledge taught by Allah Almighty, but the deobandis to please their sataani masters made such daft claims to gain publicity.

9. ‘Worship your Lord and respect your bother’ (Hadith)

All of mankind are brothers, the elder one is the elder brother so he should be respected to the extent that a big brother is respected, and the King of everyone is Allah Almighty, all worship should only be for him so its known from this hadith that the Awliya Prophets, Imams, the sons of Imams, Peers, and the martyrs, all the close bondmen of Allah Almighty are humans, humble people, and our brothers but Allah Almighty as given them superioty and they became big brothers we are ordered to follow them we are smaller then them so they should be respected to the degree of a human only (Taqwiyatul leemaan, page 58). The wife of the elder brother is called sister in law, if we were to go with this slander of the Wahabi scholar (who is deeply respected by the deobandies) we would have to called the wives of the holy prophet may salaam be upon him our sisters in laws, whereas the Quran states the wives of the holy prophet may salaam be upon him are:

The prophet is the owner of the Muslims even more than their own selves and his wives are their mother 33:6

Sometimes through human nature one may argue with his brother, and his voice may get raised, what would happen if we, May Allah Almighty protect us, ever raised our voice above the voice of the holy prophet may salaam be upon him

O believers! Raise not your voices above the voice of the Communicator of the unseen news (the Prophet) and speak not aloud in presence of him as you shout to one another, lest your works become vain while you are unaware 49:2

His (Allah Almighties) greatness is that if he wants he can just from the word KUN (Be) bring into being Millions of Prophets, Friends, Jinns, and angels, equals to Jibrail and Muhammed may salaam be upon him and put into disorder the entire world from earth to sky and create a new world in its place. Allah Almighty states about his beloved prophet may salaam be upon him

Muhammad is not the father of any of your men, yes He is the Messenger of Allah and the last one among all the prophets. 33:40

We learn from the Quran that holy prophet may salaam be upon him is the last one among all the prophets may salaam be upon them, may we ask if ‘millions upon millions’ of Muhammad’s were created which one out of these ‘millions upon millions’ will be the last Prophet?

11. Abu Dawood reports from Qais bin Said: Once I had been to a city named Heera and I saw people prostrating to their King. I though the Messenger of Allah may salaam be upon him is more deserving of prostrating to. When I came to the holy prophet may salaam be upon him I said I have been to Heera and there I saw the people prostrating to their King, but you deserve this more. The holy prophet may salaam be upon him said If you pass my grave would you prostrate towards it, No I wouldn’t I replied, Then don’t do this either

That is one day or the other I will also die and will get mixed with soil then I won’t be worthy of prostration, only he deserves prostration who is immortal. It’s obvious from this hadith that prostration isn’t allowed for the living or dead (Taqwiyatul Ieemaan, page 59). Written by Ismaiel Dehlvi

First of all the deviant sects admit the above is wrong (but not kuffar as Muslims believe it to be) proof of this is when this book was republished by the Noomani Kutubkhana the wording was changed.

Secondly we can see how deceitful the wording of Ismail Delvi is, after quoting the hadith he continues writing in the form of a third person so as to deceive the readers and make them think that these words are a part of the hadith, when in actual fact they are his own words showing his filthy belief regarding the blessed body of the holy prophet may salaam be upon him.

Thirdly we find in Hadith Shareef, that Allah Almighty has made it Haraam for earth to eat up the bodies of the prophets (Sunan e Abi Dawood), the publication of the above statement by Noormani Kutubkhana where firstly they changed the words secondly they have also added the hadith I have just mentioned as a footnote. Are we not justified to ask, if you are so desperate to hide this kuffar of your elder then why don’t you admit to this being kuffar and a deep insult of the holy prophet may salaam be upon him, and declare this poor excuse for a scholar a non Muslim, and anyone who doubts him being a non Muslim after being aware of his kuffar also a non Muslim.

All the bodies of the prophets may salaam be upon them are intact in their blessed resting places. Maybe the filthy hearted wahabi has lowered the earth in obedience to Allah Almighty to the level of the obedience of the wahabies / deobandies to Allah Almighty, as its crystal clear the deobandies and wahbies aren’t really too bothered when Allah Almighty declares something as Haraam.

12. It is not necessary for a Prophet to be free from, and innocent of, every lie. (Tasfiyatul 'Aqaa'id, page 25). Written by Muhammad Qaasim Nanontvi.

Obey Allah and the messenger 3:32

See how astray from Islam the deobandies are, according to them Allah Almighty has ordered the Muslims to tell some lies, as Allah Almighty has ordered us to follow the messenger may salaam be upon him in our lives, when we are following the holy prophet may salaam be upon him, in all aspects of our daily life, we would then surely also follow him and tell lies, so we would become the targets of Allah Almighties curse. May Allah Almighty protect us all Ameen.

We have already learnt above that even the voice of the holy prophet may salaam be upon him must be treated with extra special care, and then what must be the extent of respect we must show to the actual being of the beloved Prophet may salaam be upon him.

14. If one transfers the right of Allah to any one amongst his creatures, it is tantamount to transfer the right of the highest and the greatest to the lowest and the meanest, because Allah is the greatest and his creation in front of him are slaves its as if one puts the crown of a king on the head of a cobbler what greater injustice would be than this, one should keep in mind that every creature regardless if he is the greatest human or a close Angel, is worser then a cobbler before the glory of Allah. The above verse makes it abudanantly clear that as from the point of Sharia, Shirk is the greatest sin, similar from the standpoint of reason, Shirk is the biggest Sin. Shirk from all the defects is the greatest defect and the truth is that the biggest defect in the human is that he disrespects his elders (Taqwiyatul leemaan, page 141). Written by Ismaiel Dehlvi

Can any Muslim ever utter such open derogatory filth? To consider a cobbler more worthy then the Prophet may salaam be upon him, to say the cobbler is something according to Allah Almighty but the holy prophet may salaam be upon them is even worser then the cobblers, any Muslim would tremble if even such a thought ever crossed his mind, he would spend years seeking forgiveness from Allah Almighty, that such unbearable filth could ever come in his thoughts, how about we compare this to the true Islamic position

Undoubtedly, the most respected among you in the sight of Allah is he who is more pious 49:13

Also we see the contradiction of this wahabi scholar a few lines down he writes the biggest defect is disrespecting your elders, so he admits he himself as the writer of the above insult of the greatest of creations the holy prophet may salaam be upon him, has himself become the greatest sinner. In light of both these proofs we firmly believe that it is Ismaeel Delvi is by far more worser than a cobbler and we also fully acknowledge that the biggest defect in Ismaeel Delvi is that he doesn’t respect the elders.

From the Quran we learn

‘We will turn you towards that Qibla which pleased you. Turn your faces towards the scared mosque (Ka’aba) just now’ 2:144

We learn from the Quran that if the holy Prophet may salaam be upon him desires for the direction of the Qibla to change, then the Qibla changes! Is this called holding no authority’ or calld holding ‘amazing authority’?

What happened was a follower of this deobandi scholar had the a dream in which he was reading the Kalima but instead of saying the name of the holy prophet may salaam be upon him he said the name of the his deobandi teacher Ashraf Ali Thanvi, he woke up from the dream and realized what a terrible mistakes he had made, so he wanted to repent so he read Darood Shareef, and whilst reading Darood Shareef, he again mentioned the name of his deobandi teacher instead of the name of the holy prophet may salaam be upon him. He wrote all this to Ashraf Ali Thanvi in a letter, who replied, they is no harm in this act as I am one who follows the sunnah, and its allowed to state such statements for the one who follows the sunnah.

And this brings me to the end of the article, I have given a brief Islamic stance on every subject which the deobandies / wahabies have raised, also I have provided answers to three commons replies which we would receive from a wahabies / deobandies when we challenges him or her in relation to the statements mentioned above. The holy prophet may salaam be upon him once said my ummah will split into 73 sects all will be destined for hell except for one, it was asked who are they? The holy prophet may salaam be upon him replied those who are on my way and the way of my companions may Allah be pleased with them all. Dear readers please decide out of the two beliefs mentioned in the article which would you think is the belief of the beloved prophet may salaam be upon him and his companions may Allah Almighty be pleased with them all.
